What to Expect
Your First Chiropractic Appointment
There are a few things we will need from you when you come into the office:
- Your insurance card, if you have one.
- A valid driver’s license or alternate ID.
- Any forms that you have downloaded and filled out at home.
- A check, cash or credit card for co-payments, deductibles, or payment in full.
History
The doctor will listen to you. In addition to your complete history intake, we know that the best way to understand you is to hear what you have to say.
Examination
The exam will take between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your history or the circumstances surrounding an injury. We note vital statistics, look at orthopedic and neurological indicators, and assess posture and joint mobility. We may order radiographs to rule out pathology or to obtain a more specific diagnosis but we do not order them routinely.
Treatment is offered on the first visit unless additional information is necessary to understand your diagnosis. With a chiropractic adjustment you will most likely feel better immediately and with follow up care we will show you how to make best use of the benefits of chiropractic as a life style strategy.
